The Joseph Banks Property Fund is managed by Solander Funds Management which administers the investments whilst Property Development expertise is managed by the Lincolnshire Property Group, a team of property professionals with combined expertise in all aspects of property development.

Dr John Hewson
  • Dr Hewson has had several careers in academia, bureaucracy, business, politics, and the media.
  • He is currently a Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU, and an Adjunct Professor at Curtin, UTS, Canberra and Griffith Universities, having been Professor and Head of the School of Economics at UNSW, and Professor of Management and Dean Macquarie Graduate School of Management at Macquarie University.
  • He has worked for The Australian Treasury (Census and Statistics), the IMF, the Reserve Bank, the UN (UNESCAP), and the ADB, and often advises senior public servants.
  • In Business, he was a Founder of Macquarie Bank, Chairman ABN Amro Australia, and Chair/Director of a host of public and private companies, with current positions in renewable energy, and funds management and investment banking. He is Chair, Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia and The Ocean Nourishment Foundation & Patron of the Smart Energy Council and Overseas Bankers Association.
  • In Politics he has served as Advisor/Chief of Staff to two Federal Treasurers and Prime Minister, as Shadow Finance Minister, Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Industry and Commerce, and Leader of the Liberal Party, and of the Federal Coalition in Opposition.
  • In the media, he has been a regular Columnist since the early 80s for a range of domestic and international newspapers (presently Saturday Paper) and comments widely on economics and politics on TV, radio, in print, and on line, here and overseas.

  • Ross is a member of the senior management team of BlueMount Capital and Director of Sydney Funds Management with 25 years commercial and management experience
  • Ross is an experienced fund manager, investment banker & active property investor with significant experience in capital raisings, fund management and property investment.
  • Ross holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, a Graduate Diploma of Business & Technology from the University of New South Wales and a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney.

  • Craig has 30 years global Asset and Wealth Management experience specialising in growing businesses in Private Debt, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Property (Real Assets), Credit and Equities.
  • Craig was General Manager, Asset and Wealth Management of MyState Limited for three years, and CEO of TPT Wealth Limited, a Non-ADI Lender with $2B in assets focusing Private Debt. He was also Chairman of the TPT Asset and Liabilities Committee, Investment Committee and Divisional Risk Committee.
  • Craig developed his career by growing the companies he worked for. He advanced through St.George Bank managing several divisions and subsidiaries including; General Manager: Asset Management, Margin Lending and its Online Trading business tripling the assets to $24B over 5 years. He later moved to Credit Asset Management as a Director to lead the Distribution, Product and Marketing teams growing assets from $11B to $34B during his tenure focusing on Alternative and Private Market assets to Institutional, Wholesale and Retail Third Party markets.
  • Craig joined Certitude Global Investments as Chief Executive Officer for 5 years leading one of Australia’s largest Hedge Funds managers later becoming the Managing Director of Asset and Wealth Management for Aura Group focusing on Private Equity, Venture Capital, Property and Private Debt.
    Craig has held several Key Responsible Manager roles for Australian Financial Services Licenses (‘AFSL’) and Australian Credit Licenses.

  • Richard established Mandanex Group in 2014, an corporate advisory business with operations across the region. He has successfully assisted a wide range of clients meet their capital requirements and delivered transaction based advisory work.
  • Richard is a Chartered Accountant, Registered Business Valuer and experienced company director. He has lived and worked throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

  • Dominic has been involved with private finance for development projects for over 27 years and prior to that was a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants.
  • Dominic has a large network across all the aspects of property development including access to exceptional development projects and developers.
  • He was the founding partner of Chifley Securities and over his career has financed several billions of dollars of projects and is highly respected in the industry.
  • He is often sought for comment in the AFR, SMH, The Australian and Age newspapers as well as industry publications.
  • He has an expertise to financially engineer projects for the benefit of investors and developers.
  • He enjoys lecturing and has lectured extensively at International Forums, including the International Accounting Organisation Forum and the World Mining Congress in Singapore, and many educational lectures on Business and Property Finance developed numerous on-line training courses in business and property development finance studies.
  • Dominic takes a keen interest in working with Charities and assisting with developing successful income generating programs and has a business which assists charities with accounting and financial controls.

  • Kim Jacobs AM has extensive experience in investment banking, strategic and financial management, M&A, project finance, corporate advice and corporate governance.
  • Kim has led a number of IPOs; debt project finance and equity transactions and he has worked extensively throughout Australia and internationally for both local and overseas clients. His clients have included resource, technology, transportation, agricultural, health care and life sciences companies as well as universities and he has been involved in more than $4 billion of transactions.
  • Kim was the founder of Inteq Limited which he established in 1988, sold in 2015 and which specialised in providing corporate, strategic and financial advice to medium and smaller corporates, divisions of major corporations as well as private families. He is one of the founders and the Non-Executive Chairman of Online Media Holdings Limited (trading as Local Measure) which is a public technology company specialising in customer intelligence and communications; Non-Executive Chairman of Camp Quality, a national charity assisting children whose lives have been affected by cancer; Director of CARES which provides outsourced administration, corporate governance and compliance services to For Purpose organisations and a member of the Advisory Board of UTS Business School.
  • Kim has held a number of private and public company directorships as well as serving in a voluntary capacity on the boards of community organisations for over 50 years. He was formerly the Managing Director at First Toronto Australia Limited, Manager Investment Banking with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (Australia) and Corporate Counsel for Renison Goldfields Consolidated Limited. Prior to these corporate positions, Kim worked in private practice in law for 5 years specialising in corporate and commercial work.
  • Kim was also formally the President of the Australia Israel Chamber of Commerce (NSW Division), Non-Executive Director of the Weizmann Australia Institute, Non-Executive Director of Concept Systems Limited (ASX Listed payroll and systems company), WorldNet Communications Inc. (US Telecommunications Company) and The Shalom Institute.
  • Awarded the Order of Australia (AM) in 2016 for significant service to business through a range of senior roles, to Australia-Israel relations, to higher education and to the community. Kim has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Business Administration from Macquarie University.

  • He holds a Masters of Public Policy from Australian National University and a Bachelor of Administration (Economics) from Griffith University.
  • Stephen is a Councillor of UDIA NSW and a member of the Urban Land Institute and Australian Institute of Company Directors.
  • He has an extensive property industry network and provides advice on market economics, regulatory pathways and project advocacy.
  • Andrew Bartington

    • Andrew has extensive property experience having worked for and consulted to organisations including listed property trusts, state owned enterprises and private companies.
    • Over the past decade he has lead the delivery of high-quality award-winning master planned community projects in the Northern Territory and South East Queensland under joint venture structures.
    • Andrew enjoys leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects and developing stakeholder / regulatory authority relationships.
    • He has significant and recognised expertise in advisory and acquisition roles and the development of mixed use multistage financial models.
    • Andrew has led the acquisition/assessment of projects from Darwin to Brisbane, the Hunter Valley, Illawarra, Sydney, Adelaide, Alice Springs and as far afield as New Zealand and Dubai.
    • Andrew has a Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland.

    • Justin comes from a construction background working for a number of Tier 1 and Tier 2 firms over the last 20 years. His experience in the property development and construction has covered an array of industries including commercial, accommodation and hospitality, industrial and medical.
    • Justin’s main skill set lies in analysing and preparing detailed feasibility models for development approval and investment financing and following them through from project inception and ultimately project completion. Justin has an active role in origination of potential opportunities across the full acquisition life cycle from initial site identification, due diligence process, deal structuring and negotiation and ultimately through to transaction phase and development.
    • Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Economics and is currently completing his masters in property development & investment at UTS and is a published author.

    Fund Objectives

    • Provide sophisticated investors with an opportunity to participate in property development projects where there is a niche in the market and in a risk mitigated manner.

    • To deliver returns to investors by identifying and participating in

      suitably vetted real estate projects and transactions that have well defined risk factors with known mitigants. The Fund seeks to deliver to investors investment opportunities that exhibit a risk mitigated downside with a potentially enhanced upside.

    • The Fund obtains its returns to investors by participating in real estate

      development projects and transactions (investment opportunities). Investment opportunities include property developments, commercial property, and other opportunities presented where real estate is the main underlying asset.

    • The Fund seeks investment opportunities in a broad range of property sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, retail, hotel and other specialised real estate sectors.
    • The Fund also seeks opportunities in a broad geographic area but will mainly be focused on transactions in major capital cities and commercial hubs throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia.
    • The Fund provides investors with the opportunity to invest in all investment opportunities as a whole.
    • Investors will be provided with the necessary details of each investment opportunity to make an informed decision about the investment opportunity and if it is suitable for them.
    • It is likely that investment opportunities will include exposure to preference share or note offers.
    • It is expected that investors will receive coupon returns for participation in their investment opportunity as well as a share of the development profits pending the successful completion of the construction or development project.
